Tex-Rays Fall Update
It is time to celebrate the
annual National Radiologic Technology Week (NRTW) and recognize the vital services and contribution of radiographers worldwide. Now in its 36th year, NRTW will be celebrated November 8-14 to commemorate
the discovery of x-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on November 8, 1895. The week-long
celebration calls attention to the important role medical imaging plays in the delivery of patient care and health care safety.
NRTW is a wonderful time to show everyone how proud you are to be a radiographer and how extraordinary it is to work in a
profession that helps millions of patients each year. There are countless ways to celebrate NRTW, from educational in-services
to staff recognition parties, so find what works for you and let the festivities begin.
In honor of NRTW, the TSRT will
continue their discounted radiographer membership drive from $35 to $25 through the entire month of November. This year
the annual TSRT meeting will be held in Fort Worth, TX at Tarrant County College on March 11 & 12. Be on the lookout
for more information regarding the annual meeting on the TSRT web-site.
TSRT student competitions are always a lot of fun and memorable each
year. TSRT student competitions include: Award of Merit Manuscripts, I-Lead Presentations, Scientific Displays, and the Student
Bee. In addition, this year the TSRT will also include the RAD Tees T-Shirt competition to our list of student activities.
As a reminder, students wishing to compete must be a member by the end of December, 2015 and submit all documentation to the
TSRT by the end of January, 2016.
