Dear Educators:

I would like to encourage you and your students to attend the 78th TSRT Annual Meeting in beautiful South Padre Island, Texas.  Due to the interest and attendance at last years meeting, it was decided that we would return to South Padre once again.  The meeting is scheduled for March 27th – March 29, 2008.  During these three days, there will be several activities for students to participate in.  One activity that is sure to be a “hit” is the luau / variety show.  Students will have the opportunity to show their talent in hopes of winning a cash reward.

Membership is $35 and only $15 for students.  Early bird registration is $125.  To take advantage of the early bird registration, you must be a TSRT member by December 1, 2007 and submit your registration form and payment by January 30, 2008.

The Student Activities for the 78th TSRT Annual Meeting include:

The Student Leadership Competition - Students teach and inform fellow students through PowerPoint presentations in a competition. A student will select a radiologic science topic of interest and present it at the annual meeting.

The Student Bee Challenge - The entire student body is invited to compete in a “game-show” with registry review type questions. Students compete by holding up answer cards to multiple choice questions displayed.

The Award of Merit Papers - Students submit research and informative radiologic papers for judging.

Student Scientific Display Competition - Students submit displays of informative radiologic subject matter.

The rules, regulations, postmark deadlines, and applications for student activities can be found on the Student Activities page.  For the Student Bee Challenge students will sign up at the annual meeting; no prior paper work is needed for this competition other than being a TSRT student member.

A draft of the annual meeting schedule can be viewed on the 78th Annual Meeting page.

Upon completion of each session, students will have their programs stamped as they leave the meeting room. This will confirm their attendance in the student track.

I look forward to seeing you at the 78th Annual TSRT conference and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Janeen Johnson, B.S., R. T. (R)
TSRT 2nd Vice President
