Eligibility
1. Radiologic Science/therapy students (in Texas
and out) in an accredited Radiologic Science Program are
encouraged to enter this competition.
2. Registered Technologists (RT) continuing their education in an accredited Radiologic Science Program may enter as a student.
3. The students/RTs must be a TSRT member by January 24, 2010 and
at the time of the 2010 Annual Meeting.

3. The following individuals/groups are prohibited from entering this competition: Companies, schools, TSRT
Board Members, Judges, Scientific Display
Competition Committee Members, and companies or
individuals with TSRT contracts.
4. TSRT reserves the right to limit the number of speakers for this competition due to time constraints. Educators
and students will be notified via e-mail by January 31, 2010 of any limitations.
Application
1. Students
wishing to enter must complete the 2010
Application for Student Leadership Competition form listed below using Microsoft Word only.
2. E-mail to tsrt@runbox.com: 1) application form, 2) an outline of the presentation (Microsoft Word only),
3) a
letter from your Program Director verifying your student status. E-mail dates
must be between
January 1 and January 24, 2010. Place student’s name/Student
Leadership on the Subject Line.
3. Only one application/outline/PowerPoint/letter per e-mail will be accepted by TSRT.
4. Presentations submitted for award consideration must not have been shown at any previous TSRT or ASRT meeting/convention and
must be done entirely by the student speaker.
Presentation
1. Only one student per presentation.
2. The outline of the presentation must cover the entire subject matter.
3. The PowerPoint presentation must be PowerPoint 2000 or greater.
4. The speaker’s presentation time must be between 10 and 20 minutes.
Judges/designee will time the presentation
and their decisions are final.
5. The topics must relate to the Radiologic Sciences or Radiation Therapy such as Diagnostic
Imaging (Radiology, Ultrasound,
Interventional, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiology, MRI, etc.), Radiation Therapy, Radioactive
Events, Patient Care, Medical Diseases/Syndromes, and/or Professionalism.
6. At the 2010 Annual Meeting, the speaker will use the PowerPoint presentation submitted to TSRT via e-mail
and that presentation will remain unaltered.
7. TSRT Officers, Educational Alliance Chair, and/or Judges may disqualify/stop a presentation if they feel
the speaker is presenting false,
copied, or offensive information.
Judging
1. Three judges will
be appointed by 2nd VP and/or Educational Alliance Chair from the membership attending the 2010 TSRT Annual Meeting.
2. The judges are the responsibility of the Second Vice-President
and their decisions will be final.
3. Presentations will be judged using the Judges Scoring Sheet
listed below: 1) Originality: New approach,
procedure, or technique, evidence of research, and
knowledge and level of difficulty of subject matter; 2)Value and Interest: Practical
value/interest to technologists/students and educational value to technologists/students; 3) Presentation: Proper credit given where warranted., speaker followed previously
submitted outline, orderliness and clarity of thoughts/ideas in the presentation,
and evaluation of PowerPoint presentation
including structure, spelling, and operation.
5. Total maximum points a presentation can receive will be 405 points per judge. The total number of points accumulated
for each presentation will be known only by the Second Vice-President and Educational
Alliance Chair.
Questions
Any questions regarding
the eligibility of an applicant’s presentation that cannot be settled by the Educational Alliance Chair or 2nd
VP must be submitted to the President of the TSRT. If not satisfactorily settled
by the President, eligibility status will be decided by the TSRT Board of Directors and Officers and their decision shall
be final.
Presentation of Awards
1. Awards/winners will be announced during the last business session of the Annual Meeting on Saturday afternoon. Winners are encouraged to attend this meeting and accept their ribbons and cash awards.
2. All cash awards will be mailed to the Director of the recipient’s educational or employment institution. It
is the responsibility of the director/institution to forward and distribute the award to the recipient.

Competition Rules and Regulations
1. The Student Leadership application, outline, and PowerPoint must be e-mailed to TSRT between

2. You must be a TSRT student/active

4. Attach a letter from your Program Director (with college/school
logo) verifying your student status. Typed ‘signature’ of Program
Director will be OK.
