POSITION STATEMENTS

Mary Theresa Posern, ARRT (R) (QM) MBA

It is with great pride and love for our profession that I accept the nomination for the office of TSRT VP.   I have always been fulfilled and inspired by my chosen profession.  I have and still enjoy the discovery that each radiograph allows us in the delivery of healthcare for all the patients we serve   every day.  I am passionate about the impact we make as credentialed radiographers in the lives of those we serve and I want to serve that profession by serving on the TSRT board in the capacity of VP.

5 years ago I moved to the Austin area to become the Director of Radiology at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center and sadly found no local TSRT affiliate organization in Austin.  This lack of a local affiliate in Austin the capital of Texas made me very aware that I took my local affiliates in Houston area for granted and that I needed step up.  I feel that this nomination will afford me the opportunity to pay back the profession that has given me such joy and fulfillment for all these years.  I am ready to serve you and our profession in this position.

Kameka Rideaux, MBA, R.T., (R), (T)

It is my distinct privilege to accept the nomination for the office of TSRT Vice President.   I became an active member in Radiologic Technology Professional Society when I moved to Houston in 2001 and joined the Texas Society of Radiologic Technologist (TSRT) as a student.  Through the years I have volunteered to serve on committees for TSRT and ASRT. I have presented numerous lectures at the local, state, national, and international level.   I recently returned from London, England where I was asked to present a lecture on Simulation Education in Radiation Therapy.  I am currently the Education Coordinator for M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Radiation Therapy Program in Houston, Texas.  I have worked at M.D. Anderson for 10 years both as a staff radiation therapist and an educator.  As an educator it is my core belief that we can provide a long–lasting foundation for our profession through education.  My personal statement is “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choices of many alternatives” - Willa A. Foster

I absolutely love my profession and would like to see it really flourish through the efforts of the CARE bill.  The care that we deliver as radiologic technologist are just as important or more important any other healthcare professional.   I am a little bias when I say more important, but this should demonstrate how much pride I have in this profession.  Healthcare is a field that I am most passionate about and providing quality care for all patients.  As the Vice President, I would serve radiologic technologist, students and educators in Texas.  My target goal is to advocate outstanding patient care and safety when administering and delivering ionizing radiation.  I would like the opportunity to take an active role in making a difference in the profession through TSRT.  My pledge would be to work diligently to improve enrollment, recruit speakers from all modalities, create an environment where there is something for every single person under the umbrella of radiologic sciences, and work on the initiatives set by the organization and president.

Tiffani Walker, MSRS R.T., (R)

It is my privilege to accept the nomination for the office of TSRT Vice President.   I became an active member in Radiologic Technology professional societies since my graduation from the radiology program I attended 10 years ago.  Through the years I have volunteered on many committees and have attended many seminars at the local, state, and national level.  I am an active member of TSRT, ASRT, AEIRS, and DAMES.  I am currently the Radiology Clinical Coordinator and Educator for North Central Texas College in Gainesville, TX.

I thoroughly enjoy the career path I have taken. I take pride in molding and inspiring our future radiographers into becoming proud participants of our profession.  I have worked in many modalities over the years including Mammography, Bone Densitometry, and CT.  As TSRT is about serving all of Texas’s radiologic professions and students; I believe that my experience as a radiographer, as well as, an educator will help me to serve as the Vice President.
